Problem solving: Some examples
This second segment of the site has been created to set before you a sample of projects and assignments with which I have had been actively involved in the last few years, and currently. I have deliberately sought a fairly wide cross-section so as to give you a better idea of how my mind works and the results it obtains.
To make this easier to access, I have selected as examples a certain number of our current collaborative programs under The Commons for which there are reasonably up to date descriptions and websites. You will also see some examples of our tool building in the lower set of links ot your left.
Taken together they are intended to give you an idea of the reach and style of my work. (If you require further background on any of these I invite you to . Where available I have supplied web links to more specific sources.) As you will note, there is no single thrust or specialization in all these assignments and achievements, other than that they all involve . . .
- The consistent thrust and dedication to creating robust, sustainable policies and structures, whether in terms of public policy or specific business practices
- The highly varied challenge of anticipating and managing technology in a very wide range of places, sectors and situations of day to day life.
- The critical importance of applied conceptual thinking and pattern recognition to break out of the box.
- The fact that no one of these projects represents an individual initiative -- rather in all cases my contribution was in the context of a coordinated team effort, almost invariable international and always reaching across a range of disciplines and cultures, and finally:
- The bottom line is that real accomplishment requires real staying power: commitment to the same ethics and values and sustained with high energy over the years.
So without further excuses or hesitation, let me invite you to click your way down this menu from top to bottom, or at least as far as your curiosity and energy hold out . . .
