Welcome to my personal web page.
Since you have got this far, it is probably safe to assume that you would like to know a bit more about me. And while my background is a rather broad one, spanning a number of fields and work in many places and cultures, my career has been consistently marked by a few strong central themes. To get you started, you have them set out here in three hundred words.
And if that is not enough for you, well just look to your left and keep clicking.

Problem-solving
That's what I do. My field is, you might call it, "applied sustainability". I am not a researcher nor an academic. My specialty is strategic planning and decision counsel to government and industry in situations marked by duress, uncertainty and incomplete information. My work stresses things like conceptual thinking, pattern recognition, world wide networking and knowledge building through dialogue.
Next steps: Initiatives for 2006 & beyond
A free-form brainstorming exercise that openly ponders a number of concepts, ideas and possible projects for the future: initiatives, both for my private consulting work and for The Commons and other venues which involve both public and private sector partners and sponsors. Not all of these ideas are going to see the light of day, but here you have my priorities and intentions.

A day at the office
The target here is to try to convey to you in a few minutes an idea of the range and kinds of things that are going on around here, and the work, research, network maintenance and interactions that are required to keep things rolling over here. There is a lot of scanning and communication that goes into all of this, and the trick is to be able to do it efficiency so that there is plenty of time available for the real work that lies at the core of our mission.
Selected Videos/Presentations
Here you have a selection of streamed videos and audios taken from radio interviews or web casts of conferences and presentations, which together offer an unvarnished view of how I try to negotiate this sort of public presence. For better or worse. You will also see a couple of PowerPoint presentations that are intended to challenge the usual thinking in a couple of areas that are important in my work.

Conference & Event Organization
Looking for ideas or support for your planned conference or event? Speakers, help in overall organization, or outreach in areas in which I have some competence. A key concern here is to harness low cost technologies to create more environmentally responsible events Get in touch: I may have some leads or well placed collaborators for you.
